Post his retirement in 2012, he ventured into broadcasting before taking up coaching, leading the India U19 team to victory in the 2018 World Cup. In November 2021, he assumed the role of the senior team’s head coach.

The social media platform ‘X‘ featured a video of Samit’s impressive bowling action, catching the attention of fans.

While Rahul Dravid continues to shape Indian cricket from the coaching sidelines, his 18-year-old son, Samit Dravid, is making waves in the U19 Cooch Behar Trophy for Karnataka. In the recent final against Mumbai, Samit, the first-change bowler for Karnataka, showcased his fast-bowling prowess by claiming two crucial wickets.

During an interview on JioCinema ahead of India’s first T20I against Afghanistan, Rahul Dravid discussed working with Samit. When asked about coaching his son, Dravid emphasized the difficulty of playing both roles simultaneously.

He expressed happiness in being a father and humorously admitted to not fully understanding his role in that capacity.

In the ongoing Cooch Behar Trophy, Samit Dravid has been a standout performer, scoring 340 runs at an average of 37.78 in seven matches. Additionally, he has showcased his all-round skills by taking 14 wickets in as many innings.

As Karnataka prepares for their batting innings after bowling out Mumbai for 380, all eyes are on Samit, listed at no.6 in the batting order, eager to exhibit his batting prowess.
